Inspired by the Future!
Inspired Design and Print recognise their responsibility and the importance of minimising the environmental impact of the companies activities, products and services.
As a company, we are very conscious of environmental issues and make every effort to minimise our waste.
We recycle our waste products wherever possible.
In order to promote good environmental practices, our environmental policy is:
- To identify the significant environmental impacts of our activities.
- To develop suitable objectives, targets and management programmes, applying appropriate operational procedures to minimise our significant environmental impacts during normal, abnormal and emergency conditions.
- To prevent pollution, minimise our inputs of utilities and resources and the outputs of emissions to the atmosphere, effluents to waters/sewers and wastes to disposal facilities; endeavouring to re-use, recover or recycle materials where practicable.
- To ensure that environmental responsibilities are defined, communicated and understood at all levels within our organisation and provide appropriate training where needed.
- To ensure that suppliers understand the Company Policy.
- To communicate, co-operate and respond to the views of interested parties, customers and the general public, on environmental issues, where this is practicable and likely to result in an overall improved environmental performance.
- To strive for continual improvement in overall environmental performance.
- To use suppliers that also have environmental policy standards
Energy Use
Inspired Design and Print strives to minimise the use of energy resulting from its activities through making energy efficiency a key consideration when purchasing and maintaining lighting, heating and printing equipment. All building lights are switched off by 6.30pm, and any individuals working thereafter are responsible for ensuring that lights/PCs are turned off after use. All Apple Macs, PCs and printers are set to make use of environmental features such as power save settings. Where possible all items are switched off, rather than placed on standby setting at the end of the business day.
Waste
Where possible we minimize the use of paper in our offices. Waste resulting from our operations will be reduced, reused or recycled where practicable. Where possible all ink and toner cartridges for printing equipment is returned to the supply company for recycling or third party companies for refilling and reuse. Inspired Design and Print will strive to minimise the amount of packaging on outgoing products and to re-use as much incoming packaging as possible. Any remaining waste will be disposed of by licensed contractors.
Procurement
When purchasing Inspired Design and Print uses environmental responsibility as a factor in its decisions and therefore help minimise our impact on the environment. Where possible, we strive to purchase products and services from companies with proven environmental performance. We ensure any sub-contracted print suppliers adhere to environmental programmes.
